Gayle Burgess
Gayle is an Intuitive Contemporary Artist; working with many mediums: acrylic paint, precious metal leaf, silk, Australian merino wool, alpaca and angora, to name a few. Gayle applies multiple mediums to her paintings, needle, hook and hand felted textile artworks. These works are underpinned by a desire to honour the past yet being in the present. Her original works pay respect to Asian and Western techniques and styling, East meets West, past melds with present to create original contemporary artworks. Periods of study with John Kibby, Noel Counihan, Enid Hoessinger and Art and Craft courses have been distributed over 45 years, with continual learning and the application of art and design principles in practical and artistic fields. Gayle's textile artworks are available at Healesville RACV, lobby shop, Tarrawarra Museum of Art, Sassafrass Wool Store, ACME et al Gallery and Store and The Serigraph Gallery. In the past, artworks have been exhibited and sold through Helen Wiltshire Galleries in Port Douglas and Mission Beach, the Port Douglas and Daintree Gallery and "Tanks" Cairns. Her works are in private collections in Great Britain, India, New Zealand, America and across Australia. Gayle likes to see, live in and create pleasing vistas and for others to share these experiences. This motivates her to create beauty that gives joy, happiness, pleasure and works that uplifts the viewer and wearer. Founded on her belief that the magic and completion are found in beginning, begin. Have the dream, the idea and begin the process. This process opens the gateway to her muse. The muse takes over the vessel (Gayle) and the muse sees to the development of the idea and to the creation of a new artwork. For any assistance contact Gayle direct Ph; 042 042 9699. |
